Having had a whole childhood of swimming, whether it be competing, the
Saturday morning fun swim with friends, or regular weekly lessons, being able to swim for me opened up so many more opportunities for new water sports I have come across, especially living by the sea. Now taking part in running and swimming events and spending lots of my time surfing, wakeboarding or any other outdoor pursuit going in my spare time.
I have been working within the Learn to Swim and Health and Fitness
industry since 2003, In December 2008 I opened up Angelfish Swim School. Since then I have also qualified as an STA Parent & Baby Swimming Teacher (birthlight based) giving a whole new swimming world for me and the students.
At Angelfish Swim School we have regular training, updating current qualifications and gaining new ones.
Every swimmer is an individual and will therefore develop skills at different
stages, giving a good reason to keep our class sizes small.
Angelfish Swim School now has its very own 'home' swimming pool, a pool dedicated to swimming lessons only at particular times throughout the day.

Hi, my name is Simone, I am a fully qualified STA Swimming Instructor. I passed my exam when I was 18 years old and have been teaching now for 22 years, so have a lot of experience and stil really enjoy teaching as no lesson is ever the same, the bigger the challenge, the better!
I have always enjoyed exercise and my hobbies are swimming and aerobics and have always worked in the leisure industry.

I grew up as a competitive swimmer for Newton Abbot swimming club and achieved many medals and trophies in my time as a swimmer. I then wanted to pass on my swimming ability to others so decided to go into swimming teaching having all the knowledge of the stroke and the feeling of the water. Because of my swimming past I feel teaching comes quite naturally to me. Being into my fitness I always found aqua aerobics interesting too so decided to do an Instructors course in January 2012 and now have my own class. I still enjoy swimming in my own time and a bit of body boarding in the sea is always fun too.
I have been swimming teaching since November 2010 and am really enjoying doing my job.
